IPL 2018: Virender Sehwag wishes KL Rahul with a humorous message

KL Rahul has recently been in stupendous form, playing for the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the eleventh edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He has played three games thus far in which he has notched 135 runs at an impressive average of 45. Moreover, he has scored the runs at a strike-rate of 198.52, which has pushed the oppositions on the back-foot.

Punjab played their opening game against the Delhi Daredevils (DD) and Rahul made a mockery of the target set by Gautam Gambhir’s men at the PCA Stadium in Mohali. Subsequently, he recorded the fastest half-century in the history of the tournament in 14 balls, which took the sting out of the Daredevils. He followed it up with another swashbuckling knock against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The rich vein of form for KL Rahul

Rahul, along with Mayank Agarwal picked the bones out of the bowlers and took RCB off to a blistering start. It was only after Umesh Yadav’s spell afterward, which tilted the game in the favour of the home team. Even against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), the Karnataka batsman blazed away along with Christopher Henry Gayle, who played his debut season of Punjab.

To multiply the joy of the right-handed batsman, he is celebrating his 26th birthday. Virender Sehwag, the head coach of the Kings XI Punjab, is an active participant in the social media platforms. The former Indian cricketer took to Twitter and wished the opening batsman in his trademark style. He wrote

Punjab are currently sitting pretty in the third position having won a couple of games out of three. Gayle’s inclusion in the squad definitely didn’t misfire as the Jamaican unfolded mayhem in the opposition’s dugout with his ferocious hitting. The franchise would next play tomorrow against the Sunrisers Hyderabad in Mohali.
