IPL 2018: Yusuf Pathan lauds Kane Williamson's intelligence
Sunrisers Hyderabad have already qualified for the playoffs.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) recently emerged as the maiden team to qualify for the playoffs of the eleventh edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). They managed to beat the Delhi Daredevils (DD) at the Feroz Shah Kotla and cemented their spot in the top-four. The franchise has won nine out of their eleven matches and is sitting at the top of the points table.
Kane Williamson replaced David Warner as the skipper of the Sunrisers and he has only grown in stature as the tournament has progressed. He has made an optimum utilization of the limited resources, which has worked wonders for the team. Yusuf Pathan, who has been in decent enough form with the willow, hailed Williamson’s leadership abilities and also sounded confident about their journey going ahead.
A confident Yusuf Pathan
“Kane is a calm person and that has helped us all. His presence ensures things don’t go haywire even under pressure. He has good knowledge of using bowlers in different situations and rotating them when needed. If we keep playing this way, there is no reason we can’t go the distance.”
“We have got some difficult wickets and the batsmen should be given equal credit for helping the team reach defendable targets in tough conditions,” Yusuf Pathan was quoted as saying during the launch of ‘Cricket Academy of Pathans’ in New Delhi.
The Indian squad for the tour of England has recently been announced and several performers from the IPL, including the likes of Siddarth Kaul and Ambati Rayudu, have found a place in the squad. The Baroda-cricketer also hailed the quality of cricket the tournament has dished out.
“A lot many players have got noticed because of IPL. Your temperament matures when you play with international stars. You are able to handle pressure in a better way. Be it a batsman or a bowler, playing consistently here matures you a lot,” he mentioned.
