The main reason why RCB should not lose the faith of reaching into the playoffs is that it has been done before and it can be done this time around as well. Mumbai Indians started the IPL 2014 in the same way and eventually reached to the Playoffs by defeating Rajasthan Royals in a nail-biting encounter, courtesy Aditya Tare hitting a six of the last ball of James Faulkner.

Talking about RCB in the 2009 season held in South Africa, Kohli’s men had only won 1 out of first 5 matches and they eventually ended the season being the runner ups losing to Deccan Chargers.

Right now RCB is in a delicate position and they need to win almost everything in order to keep their hopes alive in the tournament. One team which has the ability to do it is certainly the Virat Kohli led side. Batting is not a major problem. However, an improvement in the fielding standards and some shuffling of players could be what RCB is looking for to turn the tide.
