2. Manish Pandey (Sunrisers Hyderabad)
Many were surprised to see the Sunrisers Hyderabad retaining Manish Pandey for the upcoming IPL edition after the way he performed last season. After grabbing his services for a massive Rs 11 Crores, Manish probably took a lot of pressure of the price tag attached to him. For the Orange Army, the talented batsman could score only 284 runs at a not so impressive strike-rate of 115.44 in 15 outings.
Despite failing consistently, Pandey got the backing from the team management time and again but he couldn’t repay their faith. Eventually, the Karnataka player was dropped during one of the playoff games from the team. While there is no doubt in what he offers as a batsman to his team, the SRH could’ve released him to get back again at a lesser price compared to the last season. Having said that, being in great form recently while playing for India A might have saved the 29-year-old’s place in the side.
