Jasprit Bumrah falling awkwardly on his shoulders in the last over of Delhi Capitals (DC) innings on Sunday has stopped hearts of the Indian fans. He was grimacing in pain after diving to his left in order to stop the single off his own bowling. The Mumbai Indians (MI) fielders and their physio had ran to him quickly and he walked off the field which didn’t look a great sight.
However, there is an update on his injury now. According to the reports in Cricbuzz, Jasprit Bumrah is alright now and there is nothing to worry for Mumbai franchise and the Indian team ahead of the World Cup. Though there is still no update on whether he will be available for the next match of the team. He has to be managed carefully throughout the season as World Cup is set to follow soon after the IPL.
Mumbai in trouble
Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians (MI) are struggling while chasing the total of 214 runs at the Wankhede Stadium. Their skipper, Rohit Sharma, failed despite opening the innings along with Quinton de Kock. Both the openers were back in the hut within the powerplay overs. Even Suryakumar Yadav misjudged a single to be run-out thanks to a sensational direct-hit from Shreyas Iyer.
However, Yuvraj Singh and Kieron Pollard batted well to stitch a partnership of exactly 50 runs before Keemo Paul bluffed the latter with a slower one. Yuvi though is still batting in the middle and is looking in extremely good touch at the moment. It will be interesting to see if he helps his team get close to the winning total.
Earlier, it was all about Rishabh Pant in the first innings. He ripped apart all the Mumbai bowlers to slam an unbeaten 78-run knock off just 27 balls which propelled Delhi to 213 after 20 overs.
