IPL 2019: Ben Stokes reveals his favourite young Indian batsmen

One of the aspects that have remained constant throughout the twelve years of the Indian Premier League is the emergence of new and talented youngsters. Right from the first season till the ongoing season, one has seen a plethora of talents that made a name for themselves through the IPL. Ravindra Jadeja, Manish Pandey, Jasprit Bumrah, Sanju Samson, Pandya brothers, Nitish Rana – the list of the players who became household names after playing in the IPL just keeps getting longer. With so many players to choose from, the task of picking up the most talented players is not an easy task. However, England allrounder Ben Stokes, who is currently plying his trade for Rajasthan Royals, has revealed the names of the three Indian youngsters he loves to see play. The players are his Royals teammates Sanju Samson and Rahul Tripathi and Delhi Capitals opener, Prithvi Shaw. Well, all the three players mentioned by Stokes have already made their presence felt this season. Samson was the first to impress this season when he became the first centurion of this IPL after reaching the three-digit mark against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Shaw then missed a well-deserved century against Kolkata Knight Riders. On the other hand, Tripathi, who had become a household name after his heroics for Rising Pune Supergiant in 2017, is yet to play a big knock but played a match-winning knock against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Pant was the second highest run-scorer in the last IPL and has already scored a whirlwind fifty against Mumbai Indians this season. “Pant,” wrote Billings in his reply to Stokes. The all-rounder has so far picked up four wickets in as many games while his scores read 6, 16, 46 and 1. Rajasthan Royals have managed to win just one of their opening four games and they will be desperate to see their English recruit start performing.
