Rohit Sharma is not only one of the most successful batsmen in the history of the Indian Premier League with over 4500 runs in 176 matches but is also one of the two captains in the league to win the IPL trophy three times, the other being Chennai Super Kings’ MS Dhoni. Rohit won the IPL in 2013, 2015 and 2017.
Currently leading the Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2019, Rohit Sharma is looking to become the third batsman to reach the 5,000 runs mark in the league and according to the former Australian fast bowler, Brett Lee can be a devastating one when on a song.
Rohit Sharma is amazing when on a song, says Brett Lee
Brett Lee played in the IPL from 2008- 2013 and picked 25 wickets in 38 matches. In his international career, he picked 310 Test wickets in 76 matches and 380 wickets in 221 ODI matches. He had begun his Test career in 2000 against India and ended it in 2012 against England in an ODI. Regarded as one of the best bowlers in the history of the game, he was also one of the fastest and even clocked 100 mph in international cricket.
Brett Lee bowled to Rohit Sharma in both international cricket and in IPL and has seen the MI captain grow in stature in international cricket. Rohit is the only batsman in the history of ODI cricket to have three double hundreds in ODI cricket and four centuries in T20I cricket.
Given the number of runs scored by Rohit for both India and in IPL, where he has won the trophy with Deccan Chargers as well in 2009, apart from his wins for MI, Brett Lee took to Twitter and called him “a devastating batsman if he gets going.”
