The Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals played one entertaining match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The MS Dhoni-led CSK turned out to be victors on Sunday night, by 8 runs, as Rajasthan Royals fell just short of the target. The match saw Dhoni return to this old self with a blazing 75* in 46 balls as he turned the clock back by hitting some fearsome hits. He was named Man of the Match for his amazing innings which consisted of 4 fours and 4 sixes. First with Suresh Raina (36) and then with Dwayne Bravo (27) Dhoni took CSK to 175/5, a pretty good score at the Chepauk.
The IPL is an intense tournament which sees teammates go against teammates we have seen altercations between otherwise good friends on the field. However, the CSK and RR players were seen laughing and enjoying some much-needed good time after the match ended.
Players mingle after the match on the field
In a video shared by Chennai Super Kings on their official Twitter account, Former Royal Shane Watson was seen talking with his former RR coach Paddy Upton and RR teammate Steve Smith, while Imran Tahir can be seen teaching some leg-spinner tricks to RR’s Shreyas Gopal, while Mitchell Santner, Karn Sharma and Ish Sodhi looks on studiously. Dhoni is seen talking to a support staff member of Royals.
Ish Sodhi, the New Zealand leggie is seen asking Dhoni to autograph his bat, which the CSK skipper does with a smile. Such camaraderie is rarely seen between players and this is why IPL is the most popular T20 league which gives sight like this to the fans, who often bicker on social media.

Unfortunately, the night wasn’t as happy as the video showed, as RR’s top order failed against CSK’s spirited and experienced bowling. Only Rahul Tripathi (39), Ben Stokes (46) and Archer (2/17 and 26*) managed to stand up to the guile of MS Dhoni, but RR could only muster 167/8.
