IPL 2019: Colin Ingram excited to be a part of the tournament again
The South African born has played a little over 200 T20 games, scoring over 5000 runs with three centuries..
The auction of the Indian Premier League was in full force, having had some surprise picks and some equally surprising unsold ones. South African batsman Colin Ingram was among few certainties to ignite a few bidding wars and it went so. Ingram expressed his gratitude and excitement by being selected to play for Delhi Capitals, who bagged him for a mammoth amount.
Colin Ingram had a perfect start to his One-day career, scoring a century in his debut. Nevertheless, his inconsistency had brought curtains on his career for the Proteas and went on to sign a Kolpak deal, thereby flourishing in the English county for Glamorgan.
The 32-year old had enjoyed quite good success in T20 franchise cricket, being part of Adelaide Strikers, Karachi Kings, Kabul Zwanan as well as Delhi Daredevils in the initial part of the extravaganza. His stint with Delhi Daredevils in 2011 was, however, limited to only three matches.
The left-hander made a remark that he can’t wait to be part of the greatest cricketing festival in the world. He also said that he is thoroughly looking forward to joining the Delhi Capitals. He took to his Twitter account writing, “What an exciting moment to go through the IPL auction. Awesome to be joining Delhi capitals and can’t wait to be part of the buzz and excitement of cricket in India again.”

Sunrisers Hyderabad also joined the fray
Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad had close competition in them while bidding for the left-hander with the Delhi-based franchise emerging victorious. Delhi acquired the services of Ingram for a whopping 6.40 crores, having been one of the most expensive buys so far.
The South African born has played a little over 200 T20 games, scoring over 5000 runs with three centuries. Ingram is also capable of bowling some decent leg-spin, providing some crucial breakthroughs. His leg-spin can be decisive on the turning Indian tracks if the tournament happens to take place in India.
The Delhi capitals also went for some noteworthy as well as lesser-known players like Hanuma Vihari, Ishant Sharma, Sherfane Rutherford, Ankush Bains and Nathu Singh.
