IPL 2019: Dale Steyn takes a sly dig at Ravichandran Ashwin

Steyn also recently made his first appearance in IPL 2019 playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Kolkata Knight Riders in the away game.

IPL 2019 has been filled with interesting incidents and controversies. And the biggest of them has undoubtedly been the Mankading incident that happened in the 4th match of the season which involved Ravichandran Ashwin dismissing Jos Buttler at the non-striker’s end. The controversy was followed by lots of buzz and fury and there still are instances in connection with the same repeating in the tournament.

This eye-catching thriller was eventually won by Ashwin-led Kings XI Punjab. However, it led to a big altercation where the pundits of the cricketing world were divided into two groups. Whilst, on one hand, experts like Sanjay Manjrekar and Aakash Chopra found Ashwin’s deed correct, folks like Shane Warne, Kevin Pietersen and Eoin Morgan, on the other hand, slammed the Indian off-spinner for his act.

The South African speedster Dale Steyn was also censured by this gesture. He had said that the Kings XI skipper violated the spirit of cricket and should have avoided doing it. However, despite the fact that the incident is already 3 weeks old, Steyn doesn’t seem to leave any chance of having a laugh at the expense of this controversy and he recently made another comment on it.

Steyn trolls Ashwin

Recently, a Twitterati named Prasanna asked a very interesting question to the cricketer. He wanted to understand the strength of a team which has a lethal bowling line-up, consisting the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Jofra Archer, Kagiso Rabada, Imran Tahir and Ravichandran Ashwin. The guy wrote, “How good will it be to have jofra archer, Jasprit Bumrah , Kagiso Rabada , Imran Tahir and R Ashwin as your bowling attack in an ipl team?,”

Steyn replied to this tweet in an extremely hilarious way. With that, he also took a sly dig at Ashwin and indirectly fired shots at the Indian spinner. “Bumrah- Bowled, Rabada- Caught, Tahir- Lbw ,Ashwin- Mankad. All bases covered there Pdog �” the Proteas star replied cheekily.
