The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) made their way to the final of the 2018 Indian Premier League (IPL) against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), which they lost. However, despite their defeat at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, the Orange Army had a number of positives from their campaign, one of them was Bengal wicketkeeper-batsman Shreevats Goswami.
He had a base price of INR 20 lakhs and the Sunrisers along with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) went after him. The 29-year-old was eventually bagged at a price of INR 1 crore by SRH. In the first few matches, Wriddhiman Saha, the more accomplished keeper, was preferred ahead of him. However, fate had something else in store for the cricketer.
SRH retains Goswami
Midway through the tournament, Saha injured himself and Goswami was included in the playing eleven. In six encounters, the left-handed batsman notched 52 runs at an average of 17.33 with a highest score of 35. Yesterday, SRH put forth the list of retained and released players and while Saha was freed from his duties, Goswami has been persisted with.
In the meantime, he took to Twitter and expressed his happiness. He uploaded a picture, captioned the same and wrote, “Looking forward to another season with the @SunRisers #orangearmy #onebigfamily.”

Wyatt is currently in the West Indies, taking part in the ICC Women’s World T20. She has played one match in the event and got out for a one-ball duck against Bangladesh. Right-arm off-break bowler Salma Khatun accounted for his dismissal. England are next scheduled to play South Africa at Darren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, Gros Islet in St Lucia and a lot would be expected of Wyatt.
