IPL 2019: Fans excited as Shah Rukh Khan interacts with MS Dhoni after CSK beat KKR

MS Dhoni came up with another captaincy masterclass on Tuesday, leading Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to a comprehensive seven-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The Super Kings had their task cut out against the free-scoring Knight Riders who were at the top of the table before the game finished. The likes of Sunil Narine, Chris Lynn, Andre Russell and others were in red-hot form.

However, the Super Kings made light work of Knight Riders to win the game by seven wickets. Dhoni masterminded the win once again with some smart decision on the field that never allowed the Knight Riders to relax down and play their natural game. The wickets started falling right from the first over after Dhoni won the toss and decided to ball first. Even before the end of the powerplay, the Super Kings had sent back Narine, Lynn, Nitish Rana and Robin Uthappa.

The wickets continued to fall as Dhoni rotated his bowlers wisely. At one stage, it looked like the Knight Riders would fold up for less than 100 when they were reduced to 47 for 6. But in-form Andre Russell scored a fighting unbeaten fifty to guide the Knight Riders to an under-par 108 for 9.

In reply, the Super Kings started shakily and lost both Shane Watson and Suresh Raina inside the powerplay. However, Faf du Plessis remained firm from one end and shared a 46-run stand with Ambati Rayudu to all but seal the game. He and Kedar Jadhav then took the team over the line in the 18th over. The win was Super Kings’ fifth of the season in six games as they moved to the top of the points table.

Dhoni’s captaincy meanwhile was so good that even Shah Rukh Khan, co-owner of Knight Riders, could not stop himself from praising it. After the game, Dhoni was seen interacting with the Bollywood superstar. While Shah Rukh was standing in the stands, Dhoni was calmly listening to him from the ground. Chennai Super Kings’ official Twitter handle posted the photo of that interaction with the caption:
