3. Wriddhiman Saha
The wicketkeeper batsman was first seen playing for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the first three seasons and was picked up by the Chennai Super Kings in the 2011 season as a reserve keeper for MS Dhoni.
However, it was only in the 2014 season that the veteran emerged out of the shadow to make his mark. Playing for Kings XI Punjab in 17 matches, he scored 362 runs including a century in the final in a losing cause. Saha had been one of their best batsmen in that season.
He featured for the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the last season. A buy of INR 5 crore could yield only 122 runs at an average of 15.22 with a high score of 35. He couldn’t quite make the impact as a batsman and couldn’t add much value to the team down the order. Releasing Saha had been coming since he was the one of the few more players in their camp who had under performed in the previous season.
