The tall Kiwi all-rounder had been the most destructive all-rounder once. He broke the long-standing record of the fastest century by Shahid Afridi when he scored a century off 36 balls in a ODI against the Windies in the year 2014. The most notable of Anderson’s performance in the Indian Premier League was when he scored 95 off just 44 balls with Mumbai Indians successfully chasing 190 in 14.3 overs to qualify for the playoffs.

In the 2018 season, he was called up as a replacement for Nathan-Coulter Nile in the Royal Challengers Bangalore squad. The replacement proved to be awful as Anderson had grown as a liability. His bowling didn’t prove to be any productive as he took only three wickets from three matches at an average of 38 and an economy rate of more than 13.

His batting hadn’t been any fruitful, scoring 17 runs in three matches. Anderson’s release was only due to the fact that he couldn’t bring any positive impact to an already sliding team in the points table.
