IPL 2019: Full squads of the eight franchises

The auction of the eleventh edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) took place today in Jaipur and quite a significant amount of players went under the hammer. Initially, a total of 1003 players registered for the auction and eventually only 346 players were scheduled to go under the hammer. However, around 130 players were auctioned and they set the auction ablaze.

There were a number of surprises throughout the event and it kept everyone on their toes. A number of prominent names including the likes of Dale Steyn, Jason Holder, Brendon McCullum, Luke Ronchi, and others went unsold. On the contrary, unknown players like Varun Chakravarthy, Shivam Dube and Prayas Ray Barman attracted significant bids, raising a lot of eyebrows.

Even Chennai Super Kings (CSK) had the least number of slots left, Kings XI Punjab had the most slots to be filled. CSK along with the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) picked only a couple of players. On the contrary, teams like Delhi Capitals, Rajasthan Royals (RR), Delhi Capitals (DC), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) picked approximately seven players each.
