IPL 2019: Hardik Pandya-Rashid Khan involve in conversation on Twitter after former's impressive outing against CSK
Afghanistan bowling sensation responds to Hardik's helicopter.
Sunrisers Hyderabad spinner Rashid Khan and Hardik Pandya were involved in tweet exchange after the latter’s starring role for Mumbai Indians on Wednesday. Hardik impressed with both bat and ball as Mumbai Indians thrashed Chennai Super Kings by 37 runs to register their second win in four games this season. The all-rounder, who has been in terrific form with this IPL, first made his mark with the bat.
Mumbai Indians were reeling at 125/3 with just two overs remaining when Hardik Pandya came out to bat. At that stage, 150 looked like the best Mumbai Indians could have got. However, when the Super Kings ended up their bowling innings, Mumbai Indians had raced away to 170/5. Hardik was the architect behind powering Mumbai to such a total as he slammed 25 off just 8 balls including three sixes. One of those three sixes came off the helicopter shot as Hardik dispatched Dwayne Bravo’s yorker in the final over in MS Dhoni style and landed in the top stand of Wankhede Stadium.
He then impressed with the ball. The all-rounder dismissed MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja inside an over to derail Chennai Super Kings’ chase. He eventually finished with impressive figures of 3/20 before walking away with the Man of the Match gong for his all-round display.
After the game, he took to Twitter to express his delight over his performance and the win, writing:
“A night to remember 🔥 Amazing support at the Wankhede 👏 Let’s keep it going @mipaltan 👊💙”
This is when Sunrisers Hyderabad star Rashid replied to Hardik. Rashid, who himself has played some helicopter shots successfully in recent times, praised Hardik’s shot, writing:
“Helicopter 🚁 👌👌👌👌”
Hardik happy with the performance
Speaking while receiving the Man of the Match award, Hardik said that he was happy to contribute before highlighting the recent troubles due to injuries and controversies.
“It feels really good to help the team win and to contribute to it. It’s been seven months since I played much competitive cricket. Have batted a lot in the nets. I am someone who loves to have game time and I am hitting them really well at the moment. Yes, the injury happened and then the controversy too. These seven months weren’t easy and I wasn’t sure of what to do. This award is special and I dedicate it to all those who stood by me during those tough times. My goal is to keep performing and hopefully, help India win the World Cup,” said Hardik.
