IPL 2019: Jasprit Bumrah knocks single standing stump thrice in the Mumbai Indians camp
The fans know how the fast bowler nails such destructive yorkers.
With the 12th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) just a couple of days away, all teams are pumped for action. Players are hitting the nets just ahead of the season opener which is on March 23 with the defending Champions CSK taking on RCB. Meanwhile, speedster Jasprit Bumrah was seen in action at the Mumbai Indians camp in an empty Wankhede Stadium on Thursday.
The impeccable Jasprit Bumrah, with his yorkers and death bowling skills, is a boon to Indian cricket. While Indian captain and the skipper of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Virat Kohli is the best limited-overs batsman in the world, there’s no doubt to the fact that the class-apart Jasprit Bumrah leads the India bowling attack like a king.
A little before Bumrah was the leading bowler for India, Mohammad Shami was the go-to bowler in the country. But with the senior falling with injuries, Bumrah took Indian bowling to a never seen before prime. Since his ODI debut in 2016, Bumrah has claimed a marvelous 85 wickets in just 49 matches and in this span has only suffered once with a knee injury. This is, in fact, ridiculous given to his unique action, jumpy run-up which makes him anything but conventional and also susceptible to injuries.
Bumrah bowls back to back uprooting yorkers
However, the Mumbai Indians fast bowler has remained fit throughout his career and that makes him the biggest strength in any team he’s playing. Be it Kohli’s Men in Blue or for the Mumbai Indians franchise in the IPL, he’s the go-to cricketer who helps win titles for his teams. Bumrah is incredible at handling pressure and has an unmatched sense of maintaining the line while bowling.
No wonder the 25-year-old fast bowler was able to hit a lone standing stump consecutively with insane precision during practice on Thursday, March 21. In a video released on the same day by Mumbai Indians, on Twitter, Bumrah can be seen taking aim at the middle stump with another lying perpendicular to the elevated. Not just the batsmen who have faced Bumrah, now even the fans know how the fast bowler nails such destructive yorkers.
