The Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians (MI) side with lock horns with Virat Kohli and Co. on Thursday, March 28 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. Both teams started their respective campaigns in the IPL 2019 by facing defeats in their opening fixtures. Since it’s a crucial game for both teams, the Jasprit Bumrah-scare had rocked the Mumbai fan base on Monday.

It was a shocker for the Mumbai Indians brigade and fans as the ace fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah was hit with a shoulder injury while fielding, during the opening game against the Delhi Capitals. Bumrah, who produced somewhat expensive figures of 1/40 in his four-over spell, got wounded while fielding during his own over at the iconic Wankhede Stadium.

As the wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant tugged the last delivery of the Delhi Capitals’ innings back to Bumrah, the bowler dived towards his left and that’s how his shoulder hit the ground and he immediately screeched in pain. After receiving some primary treatment on the field from physiotherapist Nitin Patel, when he walked off the field, the death-over specialist looked in severe pain.

Ready and roaring, Jasprit Bumrah

On Monday, it was being said that Bumrah won’t be available to play for the Mumbai Indians in their next fixture in Bengaluru due to the injury. But Bumrah posted a video on Twitter-  captioning it as “Ready and roaring”- wherein he was seen participating actively in a catching session. Bumrah was seen training in nets for three hours – that made it clear that the frontline pacer will feature in the match against the RCB.

The Mumbai Indians official Twitter handle had also posted a video of Bumrah’s fielding session with teammate Anmolpreet Singh. Moreover, the 25-year-old right-armer was spotted sharing a conversation with RCB skipper Virat Kohli and Zaheer Khan – Director, Cricket Operations, Mumbai Indians. All in all, Bumrah’s injury has caused an alarming situation and the workload management of players ahead of ICC Cricket World Cup, that starts on May 30, remains to be extremely significant.
