The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will be facing the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Saturday in what is an extremely important game for both the sides. While the likes of Jonny Bairstow and David Warner have been the glue of the team throughout the season, the partnership at the top of the order will be broken soon. Bairstow is set to leave the SRH camp after April 23 to join England ahead of their series against Pakistan.
He will be available for only two more games for SRH according to India Today. SRH will play against KKR and then the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Tuesday. Bairstow was picked in the World Cup squad earlier this week and even the ECB directed the World Cup-bound players playing in the IPL to come back home on or before April 26. England are scheduled to play the one-off ODI against Ireland before the Pakistan series.
Bairstow rocking for SRH
Jonny Bairstow has been exceptional for SRH at the top of the order this season. He is currently the fifth highest run-getter of the season with 365 runs in eight matches at an average of 52.14 and a strike-rate of more than 150. Bairstow has also slammed a century this season and whenever needed, has changed his game on a slow track in Hyderabad. He would be itching to make an impact for his team in his last two appearances now.
Martin Guptill is the most likely candidate to open with David Warner after Bairstow leaves. The Kiwi batsman has been warming the bench from the start of the season but will soon play a crucial role for SRH in the closing stages of the league phase.
Also, if they qualify for the playoffs, Guptill will be an important cog in the wheel to provide some good starts to the team.
