IPL 2019: Match 12, CSK vs RR- Weather forecast | Hourly temperature and chances of rain
The Royals last won at the Chepauk back in 2008.
Two teams with contrasting starts to this year’s IPL will be in action in this season’s 12th game of the season. High-flying Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will welcome struggling Rajasthan Royals, looking to register their third win of the season in as many games. Defending champions Super Kings have started their title-defence by winning their opening two games while the Royals are yet to open their account.
The Super Kings are entering the contest after an impressive six-wicket win over Delhi Capitals. After bowling out Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for just 70 in their tournament-opener, the Super Kings came up with another fine display of bowling to restrict Delhi Capitals to 147. Led by Shane Watson’s quickfire 44 and MS Dhoni’s unbeaten 32, the Super Kings chased down the total with 2 balls remaining.
The Royals, on the other hand, lost despite posting 198 for 2 against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Fifty from Ajinkya Rahane and an unbeaten ton from Sanju Samson had propelled the inaugural winners of the IPL to a massive total. However, their bowlers came to a cropper against the David Warner-inspired team. Warner set the platform by slamming 69 and sharing an opening wicket stand of 110 runs with Jonny Bairstow. The Sunrisers suffered a mini-collapse in the middle before Yusuf Pathan and Rashid Khan took them over the line with an over remaining.
The Royals will start the game as underdogs not because of the current form but also because of the stats. Royals have won only one match at CSK’s home ground – and that was back in the inaugural IPL season in 2008. Since then the Super Kings have won five consecutive times over Royals at home.
How will be the weather:
According to AccuWeather, the temperature will hover in the early 30s at the start of the game and will remain the same throughout. While there are no predictions of the rain, the humidity can make things difficult for the players and the fans. The humidity will range between 59% and 76% during the game.
