Delhi Capitals will have their task cut out when they host high-flying Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Feroz Shah Kotla on Thursday. While Delhi are struggling to hit the top gear and have made an inconsistent start to the season, the SRH are looking unstoppable at the moment. Both the teams had contrasting starts to the season with Delhi Capitals thrashing heavyweights Mumbai Indians while Sunrisers Hyderabad losing to Kolkata Knight Riders.
However, things have changed since then. While the Sunrisers bounced back strongly to win their next two matches, Delhi have won two and lost as many in their opening four games. Sunrisers will have their confidence sky-high after a record 118-run win over Royal Challengers Bangalore last Sunday. For the third game this season, their openers – Jonny Bairstow and David Warner – shared a century-plus stand and went on to score centuries to power the team to 231 for 2. The bowlers then did extremely well to fold up the misfiring Royal Challengers for just 113.
Delhi Capitals, on the other hand, will play the game after a morale-crushing loss against Kings XI Punjab. The Capitals were 144 for 3 in the 17th over while chasing 167. With two set batsmen – Rishabh Pant and Colin Ingram – on the crease, the game was Delhi’s to lose and they did lose. However, they lost seven wickets for just eight runs in a space of 17 balls to lose the game.
The Shreyas Iyer-led side will be desperate to return to winning ways. However, the home side will have to play out of their skin to get the better of a team which has been one of the most consistent teams in recent years and are also in-form at the moment. The numbers are also in favour of the Sunrisers, having won five times in seven games against Delhi in Delhi.
How will be the weather?
According to AccuWeather, the temperature will be around 32 Degrees Celsius when the game gets underway at 8 PM. But with the passage of time, the temperature will decrease and will be around 27 Degrees Celsius towards the end. There are no predictions of rain at all but during the second half of the innings, there are chances of clouds covering the Delhi sky. The humidity will range in the higher side of the 30s.
