IPL 2019, Match 23, CSK vs KKR: Match Prediction – Weather Report, Pitch Conditions, Playing XIs and Live Streaming Details
KKR last beat CSK at the Chepauk back in the 2012 final.
It’s time for the top of the table clash in this edition’s Indian Premier League (IPL). The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have won four out of their five matches with KKR on top based on a superior Net Run Rate (+1.058). The Knights decimated the Rajasthan Royals (RR) by eight wickets and also won with 37 balls to spare, something which helped their NRR to a significant extent.
The Super Kings, on the contrary, made a stupendous comeback against the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) after the hefty drubbing at the hands of the Mumbai Indians (MI). They got the better of Ravi Ashwin’s men by 22 runs. The Yellow Army has an incredible record at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, but bearing in mind KKR’s dominating run, CSK need to bring out their A-game in order to be successful.
Pitch and Conditions
The track at the Chepauk has turned out to be a tad slow and it’s not expected to change too much. As far as the weather conditions are concerned, dew will play a part, especially in the second half of the game. The temperature will be in the mid-30s and the humidity percentages will also be around 80.
Team Combination
Chennai Super Kings
CSK are highly unlikely to make any changes to their eleven. Faf du Plessis will keep opening with Shane Watson. The onus will be on the likes of Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu and Kedar Jadhav in the middle order. MS Dhoni remains to be the fulcrum of the franchise. The likes of Chahar and Jadeja are no mugs with the bat. Kuggelejin and Chahar are the pacers with Tahir, Jadeja and Harbhajan are the tweakers.
Probable XI
Shane Watson, Faf du Plessis, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu, Kedar Jadhav, MS Dhoni (c)(wk), Ravindra Jadeja, Deepak Chahar, Harbhajan Singh, Imran Tahir, Scott Kuggeleijn.
Kolkata Knight Riders
The Knights may give Shrikant Mundhe a chance in place of Prasidh Krishna, who only has one wicket from five games. He will partner Gurney and Andre Russell in the pace department. Kuldeep, Chawla and Narine are the spinners. In the batting order, Lynn and Narine continue to open with Robin Uthappa at number three. Rana, Karthik and Gill are the other batters with the hulk-like Russell in the ranks.
Probable XI
Chris Lynn, Sunil Narine, Robin Uthappa, Nitish Rana, Andre Russell, Dinesh Karthik (C & WK), Shubman Gill, Piyush Chawla, Kuldeep Yadav, Harry Gurney, Shrikant Mundhe.
