Kolkata Knight Riders will have a chance to get their campaign back on track when they host Delhi Capitals at the Eden Gardens in the 26th match of the Indian Premier League on Friday. The high-flying Knight Riders had come crashing down to the earth in their previous outing when defending champions displaced them from the top spot in the points table with a thumping seven-wicket victory.

On the slow pitch of Chepauk, the Knight Riders star had looked all at sea right from the time MS Dhoni won the toss and invited them to bat first.  By the time the powerplay ended, the Knight Riders had lost Chris Lynn, Sunil Narine, Nitish Rana and Robin Uthappa with just 24 runs on the board. They soon found themselves 6 down for just 47 and were looking primed to be folded up for an embarrassing total before in-form Andre Russell scored an unbeaten fifty to guide them to a respectable 108 for 9. As expected, the chase was a cakewalk for the Super Kings as they crossed the line in the 18th over with ease.

Delhi Capitals, on the other hand, got back to winning ways in the previous encounter by beating Royal Challengers Bangalore. It was a near-clinical performance from the Shreyas Iyer-led side as they first restricted the Royal Challengers to a modest 149 before chasing down the total without much of a fuss. Currently, languishing at the sixth spot in the points table, Delhi will have their task cut against second-placed Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens which is nothing less than a fortress for the Dinesh Karthik-led side.

Moreover, Knight Riders have thoroughly dominated Delhi at the Eden Gardens, having won seven of the eight games. Delhi, however, will take confidence from the fact that they have already beaten the Knight Riders once this season.

How will be the weather?

As far as the weather is concerned, one can expect an uninterrupted game. According to Accuweather, there are no predictions of rain during the game time although there are slight chances of rain in the evening. The temperature will be around 28 degree celsius throughout the game while the humidity will be around 88% which can make things tough for the spectators and the players. Dew can also play its part in deciding the outcome of the match.
