The most decorated franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Mumbai Indians (MI), will start their campaign on Sunday in the third match of the season. Delhi Capitals (DC) will be their opponents who bagged the infamous last position in the points table in the previous season. The team, previously Daredevils, have shuffled their squad a lot and have also changed the name hoping to turn around their fortunes. Though they will have to be up to the mark in all the departments consistently to leave a mark this season.
Delhi Capitals have got some fine Indian talent in their team and the top four is literally the future of the Indian cricket. Prithvi Shaw and Shreyas Iyer will be assisted by Shikhar Dhawan‘s experience at the top of the order this time and the trio would be looking to start well against the Mumbai. The bowling also looks good and with most of the players available, at least on paper, the Delhi team is looking a force to reckon.
Mumbai Indians is no less than emotion in the city. Rohit Sharma is set to open the innings which changes a lot of dynamics in the line-up for them. Yuvraj Singh will add the much-needed experience in the middle-order which lacked last year. They have the veteran of T20s, Kieron Pollard, also who will be itching to make amends after a horrendous last season. Lasith Malinga’s absence is a huge blow though who has been ruled out of the first six matches.
