With the Indian Premier League (IPL) entering its business phase, Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals will be looking to get back to their best when they lock horns against each other at the PCA IS Bindra Stadium on Tuesday. Both the teams enter the competition on the back of contrasting results in their previous games. While the Kings XI Punjab lost in their last outing, Rajasthan Royals won to keep alive their slim hopes of making it to the playoffs.

In the previous outing, Kings XI Punjab became the first team this season to lose to Royal Challengers Bangalore. RCB were on a six-game losing streak when they met KXIP but the latter failed to win. Chris Gayle’s unbeaten 99 helped the Kings XI post a challenging 171. However, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers scored fine fifties to inflict the fourth defeat of the season on them.

On the other hand, the Royals beat Mumbai Indians in their previous outing to register just their second win of the season. Batting first, the three-time winners had piled up 187 for 5. In reply, the Royals chased down the total in the very last over thanks to Jos Buttler‘s 88-run knock and Shreyas Gopal’s fine cameo in the end. With the momentum in their side, the Royals will be looking to make the most of it.

Both the team, nonetheless, has already met once this season and very few can forget that game. The Royals were coasting towards a win when Kings XI Punjab’s skipper Ravi Ashwin sensationally Mankaded Jos Buttler to turn the game on its head. The Royals had gone on to suffer an inexplicable collapse, finishing on 170 for 9 from 148 for 2 to lose the game by 14 runs. The prospect of Ashwin and Buttler’s duel definitely makes the game a mouth-watering clash.

How will be the weather?
