IPL 2019- Match 49: Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Rajasthan Royals- RCB Predicted Playing XI
Although there is a very slender opportunity for them to qualify, they wouldn't want to lose hope and will try their best to stay in contention.
Arguably one of the worst campaigns for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in their history, they found it extremely difficult in the first half of the season to get some points. They completely lost control of what was happening and needed some good fortune to go their way, just to lift the spirits and help them find a way again.
After registering their first win against Kings XI Punjab, they managed to pile up three more wins in their next four games. Yet, a demoralizing defeat to the Delhi Capitals (DC) shrugged the excitement off their shoulders, which now keeps them at the bottom of the table with eight points from 12 games.
Although there is a very slender opportunity for them to qualify, they wouldn’t want to lose hope and will try their best to stay in contention. Having said that, their net run rate is horrendous, which will not help their cause. We can expect RCB to play some free-flowing cricket in the remaining league games in a bid to finish the season on a positive note.
Openers – Parthiv Patel, Virat Kohli
Parthiv Patel has endured a difficult few weeks as he had to manage a personal tragedy and yet perform on the field for his side. He has done nothing bad this season, scoring some important runs at crucial junctures, yet his performances were not good enough for RCB to muster something good.
The skipper Virat Kohli has a lot of runs to his name this season, just the way he does every season. It barely comes as a surprise to see him amongst the runs, but what RCB fans expect from him is to achieve better results as a captain, which he hasn’t since the memorable 2016 season where they reached the finals.
Middle Order – AB de Villiers, Heinrich Klaasen, Shivam Dube, Gurkeerat Singh
AB de Villiers has scored over 400 runs this season and yet fans are not completely happy. Well, that is the standard he set for himself over the years with his explosive batting. His South African companion Heinrich Klaasen will be accompanying him in the middle order, who didn’t get enough chances yet to prove his worth.
Shivam Dube got a game the other day and struck some lusty blows. He definitely has the ability to hit the big shots but needs some composure to get a big knock. Gurkeerat Mann got a place in the XI after a long period of time and the Punjab cricketer brings great IPL experience to the table.
All-rounders – Marcus Stoinis
Marcus Stoinis has been contributing in bits and pieces with the bat and ball thus far. He adds great quality to the side but hasn’t really shown his true colours as yet. He got hammered with the ball on occasions but has been showing glimpses of his destructive nature with the willow. Stoinis will want to get a big score to his name and end h
Bowlers – Washington Sundar, Navdeep Saini, Kulwant Khejroliya, Yuzvendra Chahal
Their bowling attack doesn’t boast of any big names barring Yuzvendra Chahal, who has been terrific in their dismal season. Umesh Yadav failed to replicate his new ball heroics from the previous season, which has come at a huge cost for the RCB contingent. Kulwant Khejroliya is likely to take up Yadav’s place
Washington Sundar’s addition is a huge bonus for the side. He is known to tidy up things and control the run-flow, which is a pivotal quality to possess on grounds like Chinnaswamy. Perhaps their most impressive quick bowler Navdeep Saini needs some more wickets in the remaining games to finish on a strong note and make an impression on the selectors.
