Delhi Capitals showed the potential of their young squad as they defeated the 3-time IPL winners in their opening game of the 2019 season. They will now be facing the Chennai Super Kings, another 3-time IPL winner, in their first home game. The defending champions CSK got off the mark with a comfortable 7-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bangalore in the opening game of the tournament. The two in-form teams are expected to produce a high-scoring game at the Feroz Shah Kotla.

2-4 – Delhi Capitals’ 34-run win against CSK during the previous edition was their first in the IPL over Super Kings in Delhi since 2010. The CSK team won four of the six IPL matches they played against the Delhi franchise at the Feroz Shah Kotla.
15.41 – Imran Tahir’s bowling average in the Twenty20 format at the Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi. The leg-spinner has claimed 17 wickets across 11 T20s he played at this venue including a 4-wicket haul at a strike-rate of 13.4.

Suresh Raina (132) is the only other player with 100+ IPL runs off Bhajji’s bowling. Dhawan scored the 118 runs from 95 deliveries with 14 fours and three sixes but was dismissed only once.
195.65 – MS Dhoni’s batting strike-rate against Trent Boult in the IPL. Dhoni scored 45 runs from 23 deliveries against the pacer with 3 sixes and four fours in the IPL thus far. Dhoni scored 27 from only seven balls against Boult during the last year’s game in Pune itself.
The CSK skipper smacked Boult for three maximums and two fours in that match. Excluding the numbers during that encounter, Dhoni managed to score only 18 runs from 16 deliveries off Boult in IPL and was dismissed twice.
447 – Ambati Rayudu has 447 runs in the IPL against the Delhi- franchise; the 2nd most he scored against any team. Rayudu scored 548 runs from 18 innings against RCB thus far. The CSK opener scored those 447 runs at an average of 34.38 with three fifties.
His numbers against Delhi have improved since 2015 as he scored 208 from six innings in the previous four seasons at an average of 52.
533 – Shikhar Dhawan scored 553 runs in the IPL against Chennai Super Kings. Only Virat Kohli (738) and Rohit Sharma (606) scored more IPL runs against CSK than Dhawan. The left-hander has an average of 36.86 and scored five fifties from 18 innings against the Super Kings in the league.
933 – Runs Rishabh Pant has scored in the Twenty20 format at the Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi. He needs 67 more runs to become the 2nd player after Virender Sehwag (1,199) to aggregate 1000 T20 runs at the Kotla. Pant scored those runs in 22 innings with two centuries and six fifties at an average of 46.65 and an S/R of 182.22.
