The Royal Challengers Bangalore made a mark on their way home spoiling Sunrisers Hyderabad’s chances of making it to the playoffs. The Sunrisers batting struggled in the must-win game as they finished on 175/7 with 28 runs coming off the last over. Skipper Kane Williamson was amongst the runs with an unbeaten 43-ball 70. The home team was three down for 20 before Shimron Hetmyer (75) and Gurkeerat Singh (65) added a record 144-run partnership for the 4th wicket to seal the game for RCB.

A tough venue for SRH:
2 – Only twice the Sunrisers Hyderabad have won an IPL game at the Chinnaswamy Stadium out of the eight they played. They played seven matches against the Royal Challengers Bangalore here losing five of them and lost the only game they played against KKR.
A record partnership:
144 – The 144-run partnership between Shimron Hetmyer and Gurkeerat Singh is the highest partnership for the 4th wicket in the IPL. The duo surpassed the record held by RCB since 2014 when AB de Villiers and Yuvraj Singh added 132 against Rajasthan Royals.
This is also the highest partnership in the IPL for the 4th or a lower wicket surpassing the unbeaten 134-run stand between Yusuf Pathan and Shakib Al Hasan for KKR against Gujarat Lions in 2016.
144 – This 144-run stand between Hetmyer and Gurkeerat is also the 2nd highest partnership for any wicket in the IPL against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. The RCB pair of Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers added 157 for the 2nd wicket during the 2016 season.
200 – This partnership between Hetmyer and Gurkeerat is the 200th century partnership of the IPL. RCB has most of those as they recorded 32 such 100-run stands; seven more than any other team.
Chahal @ 100:
100 – Yuzvendra Chahal became the 14th player to bag 100 wickets in the IPL. He is also the first player to claim 100 IPL wickets for RCB. Chahal completed the milestone with the wicket of Yusuf Pathan.
Parthiv equals Harbhajan:
13 – The 3-ball duck against SRH is the 13th duck in the IPL for Parthiv Patel; the joint-most number of ducks for any player in the IPL. Harbhajan Singh has also bagged 13 ducks in the IPL thus far.
Kohli @ 4000:
4010 – Virat Kohli became the 2nd captain to aggregate 4000 runs in the IPL as captain. He reached this milestone when he was on six. Before this only MS Dhoni (4084) had scored more than 4000 IPL runs as captain.
