Earlier this month when MS Dhoni ran away from a fan during the second ODI against Australia in Nagpur, it made the headlines. The whole incident was quite funny as the wicket-keeper batsman was first seen hiding behind Rohit Sharma. Then he ran all the way to the pitch before he stopped and gave the fan a handshake and a hug.
A similar incident took place during the practice session of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The team, which is currently sweating it out at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, invited the fans to witness the practice on Sunday. There were around 12,000 people who marked their presence at the venue making it a great spectacle to watch. They were absolutely earsplitting and it looked no less than an actual game of cricket.
‘Catch me if you can’
The Chennai players were involved in their usual drills and warm-ups. Then, there were some batting drills. Later on, the players were also involved in a practice match. Suresh Raina impressed everyone with a quickfire half-century. Ambati Rayudu looked good with a 40 while Dhruv Shorey also batted well.
Like on the several occurrences in the past, there was a fan intruding the field this time as well. It has become quite a common scene with MS Dhoni around. But what is uncommon is that the CSK skipper, yet again, tried to run away from the fan.
Dhoni first dodged before the bowling coach Lakshmipathy Balaji. After that, he began running fast even though he had the pads on. The fan tried to chase him but it is a daunting task to match up with the speed of MS. In between, a few people caught hold of him and MS Dhoni came close to him to shake hands with the fan.
Here is the video of the incident:
