IPL 2019: MS Dhoni smacks one on the roof of the stadium in the nets
Dhoni's form will be crucial for CSK this year as well.
There is nothing to talk more about MS Dhoni’s six-hitting ability. Rather, it is more about watching and admiring the man’s incredible power. The wicketkeeper-batsman had hit a massive maximum to win India their second World Cup title almost eight years ago. Despite his age going up by eight years and slowing down of reflexes, MSD’s ability to lift the ball out of the park has not diminished a bit and the fans recently witnessed it at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
He was seen batting at the nets under the lights at the stadium ahead of the Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) opening clash against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Saturday. A left-arm spinner bowled a flighted delivery and Dhoni jumped out of the crease to belt the ball back over the bowler’s head. Such was his power that the ball landed on the roof of the Stadium.
The video is going viral and the fans are elated to witness MS Dhoni in great form. It is necessary for India that the veteran does well with the willow keeping the World Cup in mind.
Here’s the video:
MSD had a good season with the bat in 2018
MS Dhoni though had an ordinary run in international cricket last year, he was in a good nick in the IPL, scoring 455 runs in 16 matches at an average of 75 plus and strike-rate of 150.66. He was back to lead the CSK after a gap of two years when the franchise remained suspended and led them to the title straight away, for the third time in 11 years. Overall, Dhoni has scored over 4,000 runs in 175 matches in the IPL at an average of over 40 and strike-rate of over 138.
Not only the CSK fans but the Indian fans will also want Dhoni to have a good IPL season this year for he will next head to the ICC World Cup starting in May. The veteran keeper-batsman’s form with the bat will be crucial for the Men in Blue if they aim to do well in the quadrennial event.
