IPL 2019: RCB's official Twitter handle trolls Ashoke Dinda after the win over KXIP
They took the dig after Umesh Yadav took 3/36 in the game.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), whether they perform or not, are always in the news for various reasons. In the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season, the Virat Kohli-led side has been at the receiving end of some hilarious trolls on social media due to their poor bowling attack. The likes of Mohammed Siraj and Umesh Yadav have faced the wrath of the fans for being expensive every now and then.
While Siraj’s economy this season is 9.55 after playing nine matches, Umesh has also conceded runs at a similar pace after playing a game less. After their lacklustre outings earlier this season, the social media went berserk. Some hilarious memes were created over the duo as Ashoke Dinda also had to suffer. Rather there are pages on social media named after Ashoke Dinda calling him the run machine and more in a humorous way.
Recently, after Siraj and Umesh’s poor show, the social media gimmicks prepared memes showing that they were added to the Dinda academy. The latter had come under severe scanner after almost conceding 26 runs off the last over while bowling to the CSK skipper MS Dhoni. Though Umesh prevailed off the final ball, the game shouldn’t have come to that stage.
RCB takes a dig at Dinda
The RCB’s official Twitter handle is always known to keep the team’s followers with his hilarious witty posts. They were well aware of the trolls going viral over Umesh Yadav after the CSK game. But the fast bowler came back superbly the other night against the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP). He returned with the figures of 3/36 in his four overs and bowled superbly at the death besides picking Chris Gayle’s wicket earlier in the innings.
RCB defended 202 runs comfortably in the end and the team’s official Twitter handle straight away took a dig at Ashoke Dinda over the ‘academy’ trolls on social media. They also used Umesh Yadav‘s picture stating about his performance in the game. Though this was a fitting reply to the trolls, many felt that they shouldn’t have taken a dig at Dinda as it could be insulting to the bowler.
The Twitterati also felt that the tweet was in bad taste and lashed out at the franchise only for RCB’s Twitter handle to delete it a few minutes later. They also later clarified the reason for posting the tweet.
