IPL 2019: Rishabh Pant hilariously 'babysits' Shikhar Dhawan's son
Pant churned out a 31-ball 46 yesterday at the Eden Gardens.
Rishabh Pant and ‘Babysitting’ go hand-in-hand, well not literally but the tag will probably remain with him for a long time. The tag was coined during a hilarious sledging incident when India and Australia were fighting it out in the Boxing Day Test. Australia captain Tim Paine had famously asked Pant to babysit his kids as he tried to get under the skin of the Indian wicketkeeper. Pant had later avenged for it by calling Paine a ‘temporary captain’.
But it would be safe to say that the babysitter tag garnered more attention especially after Paine’s wife posted a picture with Pant holding one of her babies. Since then, the tag has remained with the left-handed batsman. And it was highlighted once again on Friday when he shared some time with his Delhi Capitals’ and India teammate Shikhar Dhawan’s son Zoravar at the Eden Gardens.
After the game between Delhi and Kolkata Knight Riders ended, Pant was seen having a playful time with the young kid. However, one cannot say that Pant is the ideal babysitter after the way he played with Zoravar. The India star put a towel around Dhawan junior before starting to swing him in a circular motion right next to the pitch.

Delhi Capitals thrash Knight Riders:
Before playing with Zoravar, Pant played a crucial role in Delhi’s win over the Knight Riders, scoring 46 runs from 31 deliveries. The Delhi-based outfit thrashed their fancied opponents by seven wickets to move to the fourth place in the points table. The win was also Delhi’s second win against the Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens and the first since 2012.
Chasing 179, the visitors lost Prithvi Shaw (14) and their captain Shreyas Iyer (6) cheaply. However, Rishabh Pant and Shikhar Dhawan, who scored an unbeaten 97, shared a 105-run stand to put Delhi on top. Dhawan and Colin Ingram then took the team home with more than an over remaining.
