IPL 2019: Scenarios for all teams ahead of the final day of league matches

The league phase of the Indian Premier League (2019) edition will conclude on Sunday with CSK taking on KXIP in Mohali and MI hosting KKR at the Wankhede. So far, only three teams in the form of Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians have confirmed their spot in the playoffs but all the three will be looking to finish in top two depending on the results of the two matches on the last day of this round.

Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals are the only teams that have no chance of going further. The three remaining teams – Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kolkata Knight Riders and Kings XI Punjab are virtually and mathematically fighting for the 4th place in the points table. There is a high chance of a team making into the final four with less than 14 points for the first time in the history of the IPL.

Kolkata Knight Riders

The equation for the Knight Riders is simple from here on. The Dinesh Karthik-led team will go through to the playoffs if they defeat the Mumbai Indians but don’t have an alternative if they lose.
