The Delhi Capitals (DC), after a thumping victory against Mumbai Indians (MI), couldn’t carry on with their winning momentum. The team, captained by Shreyas Iyer, got beaten by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by six wickets at the Feroz Shah Kotla in New Delhi. In between, there was a minor altercation between pacer Kagiso Rabada and Shane Watson, CSK’s opening batsman.
When the Super Kings, led by MS Dhoni, were chasing down 148, Rabada seemingly said something to Watson that didn’t please the latter by any means. However, it didn’t go further and after the match, the two players were seen, having a friendly conversation. The duo also got a picture clicked together.
Ricky Ponting, who was appointed as the assistant coach of the Capitals prior to the tournament’s 12th edition, was also present there. The video of the same was posted by the official Twitter handle of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and termed it as a ‘Spirit of Cricket’ moment.
The twitter handle captioned the video and wrote, “At the end of the day, all’s well that ends well #SpiritOfCricket #VIVOIPL #DCvCSK,”

When Spirit of Cricket was questioned in Jaipur
A couple of days ago, Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) and the Rajasthan Royals (RR) faced off in Jaipur. In that game, Ravi Ashwin, the visiting team’s captain, ‘mankaded’ Jos Buttler to spark a controversy. At that point in time, Buttler was batting on 69 and was looking ominous for the Punjab franchise. Subsequently, Ashwin was severely bashed for his actions.
A number of people, from commoners to the experts lashed out the off-spinner for resorting to the undesired method. Many also questioned him for not following the Spirit of Cricket that showcases a cricketer’s sportsman spirit. However, Ashwin has also got support from the likes of Mitchell Johnson and Rahul Dravid.
