Celebrations are an inherent part of the cricket and whenever a bowler picks a wicket, batsman hits a century or fielder takes a catch, actions ensue which become a trademark of some of the players. Sachin Tendulkar’s celebration of removing the helmet and looking up in the sky after scoring a century, Imran Tahir’s celebratory run after the wicket, everything etches a special memory in our minds.
One such amazing way of celebrating is Shikhar Dhawan’s patented thigh five. After taking a catch or affecting a runout, Indian and Delhi Capitals opener Shikhar Dhawan is known to slap his right thigh with his hand, a celebration that has been dubbed ‘Thigh-Five’. Dhawan took inspiration for the celebration from Kabaddi, given that he is a big fan of the sport.
Son Zoravar emulates his father’s celebration
Shikhar is a doting dad to his son Zoravar and two daughters with his wife Ayesha. Zoravar’s antics are pretty well-known thanks to social media. Currently, the young boy is accompanying his father during his Delhi Capitals’ matches in the ongoing IPL 2019. Many of Capitals’ players are with their families and this includes Dhawan, coach Ricky Ponting, and others.
Recently, in a video shared by Delhi, Zoravar Dhawan is seen emulating his father’s mega-popular celebration, the thigh-five. He performs the move perfectly, over and over again. Later in the video, a girl, who is identified as the daughter of DC head coach Ricky Ponting is also there with Zoravar and continues the thigh-five, performing the move herself.
DC shared the clip with the caption, “Like father, like son! 🕺🏻 Zoravar Dhawan with the famous thigh-five celebration ft. Our Head Coach’s daughter! 😄”

As for the DC team, they are placed at the number three spot in IPL 2019 points table with 6 wins in 10 matches and 12 points. They recently defeated Mumbai Indians at the Eden Gardens the other day, thanks to the knock from captain Shreyas Iyer and Shikhar himself.
