IPL 2019: Shimron Hetmyer and Heinrich Klaasen are all set for RCB's fixture against Delhi Capitals
The right-handed and left-handed duo are seen playing clean shots at the nets and are all set for the clash on Sunday.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore, led by skipper Virat Kohli, is back on track in the IPL 2019 conquest after starting off the season with six straight losses. Although placed at the bottom, the Bengaluru-based franchise have won four out of their last five matches in IPL 12. Meanwhile, RCB took to Twitter to post a video of Shimron Hetmyer and the South African recruit, Henrich Klaasen, killing it at the nets.
The young calypso has played four games for the RCB team in this edition of the T20 league but hasn’t got a chance in the team since April 2 wherein Bangalore lost to the Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur. The 22-year-old had just managed to score 1 run in the game. Overall in those four matches, he only accumulated 14 runs.
Meanwhile, the South African wicketkeeper-batsman has played only one game for the Royal Challengers Bangalore wherein he didn’t get a chance to bat. Replacing AB de Villiers for the game against the Kolkata Knight Riders, Klaasen made his first appearance for RCB in IPL 2019 on April 19. The match that was won by the visiting team saw skipper Virat Kohli score a hundred in Eden Gardens Kolkata.
The game actually marked the collapse of the KKR franchise and the rise of the fallen RCB team. The KKR had won for out of their first five games and lost six in a trot following that and are hence placed at the third most bottom position in the IPL 2019 points table. Even the Rajasthan Royals, who are placed second last in the table, have only deteriorated with time.
And now with the RCB rising under the captaincy of Virat Kohli, the KKR and RR franchises are in danger. On Sunday, as the RCB take on the Delhi capitals in their 12th fixture of IPL 12, they will be desperate for a win to strengthen their cause to qualify for the playoffs. Who knows, with KXIP and SRH also deteriorating in form, RCB could be the ones to qualify to the next round.
Meanwhile, as the official handle of the Royal Challengers Bangalore took to Twitter to post a video of one of their net sessions, it’s clear that Hetmyer will make a comeback and that Klaasen will finally get a chance to prove himself. The right-handed and left-handed duo are seen playing clean shots at the nets and are all set for the clash on Sunday.
