This time, he went for Rs. 8.4 Crore, a deal which saw Rajasthan save Rs. 3.1 crore.
Another surprise package of the day was Varun Chakravarthy, the 27-year-old mystery spinner from Tamil Nadu. He cost a mind-boggling Rs. 8.4 crore for the Kings XI Punjab, who were in a gripping bidding war with Chennai Super Kings to win his services. Varun came into the limelight via impressive performances in TNPL and Vijay Hazare Trophy.

After watching him replicate his heroics in the subcontinent against Sri Lanka, all the club owners were willing to get and eventually his market value escalated to great heights. He was bought for a whopping Rs. 7.2 Crore by the Kings XI Punjab.
Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami had a forgettable 2018 edition, but he will be keen to bounce back hard with his new franchise Punjab. He was bought for Rs. 4.8 Crore and finds himself under the able guidance of Mike Hesson. Another surprising buy of the day was Colin Ingram, the 33-year-old Proteas T20 specialist who cost a whopping Rs. 6.4 Crore for Delhi Capitals.
Mohit Sharma will be on his way back to the Chennai Super Kings whilst Mumbai’s newest local hero Shivam Dube will be playing alongside Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers for the Royal Challengers.
