With the fever gradually setting in for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019, star players set to participate in the tournament are adding more to its USP. Recently, ace bowler Jasprit Bumrah was seen taking a funny jibe at Virat Kohli while wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant was aiming veteran MS Dhoni ahead of the T20 tournament. Now, both the senior players have come up with befitting replies to their respective challengers.
Bumrah, who plays for Mumbai Indians (MI), said in a video that he is still not the best bowler in the world for he hasn’t had much success against Kohli – his captain in the national team and one of the best batters of current times. “Aar aha hoon Chiku bhaiya! Aur iss baar aap mere team mein bhi nehi rahenge,” Bumrah said.
‘Chiku bhaiya’ or Kohli saw Bumrah’s challenge and was surprised and he asked: “Aapne captain ko sledge karega? (You want to sledge your own captain?)” Then he returned the jibe to the fast bowler, saying: “Chal, aakhir sikh hi haya tu! Baas, Chiku bhaiya se koi udhaari expect mat karna. (well, you have also learnt it finally. Just do not expect any favour from your Chiku bhaiya)”

The fans will be watching the two stars locking horns exactly a month later, on March 28, when the MI will play Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Bengaluru. Kohli is the captain of the RCB who are yet in the hunt of their first trophy in the tournament. MI, on the other hand, will be looking for their record fourth title this year.
Together, Kohli and Bumrah tasted disappointment against Australia
Bumrah and Kohli, however, had a disappointing Wednesday night at the same venue where mayhem from Glenn Maxwell (113 not out in 55 balls) blew India away in the second and final T20I by 7 wickets. Though Kohli played well with an unbeaten 72 off 38 balls, Bumrah failed to impress in the game, conceding 30 runs from four overs with a reward. Kohli had praised Bumrah after his determined show in the first game in Visakhapatnam but he could not replicate his performance in the second game.
