The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Virat Kohli was all excited to have Sunil Chhetri, the Indian football captain, join the RCB camp for a chat session, at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. And why not, as for both the stars share a two-fold connection. Virat Kohli and Sunil Chhetri are both the captains of the national team and also the captains of Bengaluru clubs, in the IPL and ISL respectively.

Bengaluru FC captain Sunil Chhetri recently led the franchise to their maiden Indian Super League (ISL) title as they beat FC Goa 1-0 in the final, on Sunday. Chhetri was, as usual, instrumental in the success of his team, having scored 9 goals from 18 matches in the tournament. It can be said that the RCB, who are yet to win an IPL title, can derive inspiration from their ISL counterpart who won their first title recently.

With the Indian Premier League starting later this week, captain Kohli would hope Chhetri’s presence works like a lucky charm for the RCB. While introducing Chhetri to the foreign players in the RCB side, Kohli paid his respect to the Indian football captain. It was evident that Kohli has a lot of respect for Chhetri, who is a wonderful captain himself. He addressed his players asking them to interact with Chhetri regarding pressure handling.

The amount of mutual respect between the two stars of the two wonderful sports is enough to warm every soul up. In order to thank Chhetri, Kohli posted a picture of the two on Instagram, on Wednesday. His post read, “Was fun to have you around yesterday skip  #topguy #cricketmeetsfootball”

Sunil Chhetri was not late to reply to the Indian captain’s message either. He wrote: “I’ve sore hands and shoulders from yesterday, but thanks for having me over, champ! Good luck for the tournament @imVkohli #No1 #TopLad”

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli’s RCB, who have played the IPL final thrice but haven’t won a single title yet are all pumped up to give their best this time around.
