IPL 2019: Virat Kohli took to Twitter to thank the RCB fans for their support
After the namma team RCB fan club held the poster at Chinnaswamy after RCB won their final match against SRH.
The Namma Team RCB fan club is one of the biggest fanbases of the Indian Premier League. Despite a dismal performance by the Royal Challengers Bangalore, their fans have been the most loyal by far. Now that they’re out of the competition of the season, skipper Virat Kohli has a message for all the fans of the team.
After losing six straight games in a row, Virat Kohli and Co. found redemption in the match against the Kings XI Punjab on April 13, at the PCA stadium in Mohali. Thanks to the collective efforts of star batsman AB de Villiers and captain Virat Kohli whose partnership caused the successful chase, bringing to life the team’s first victory of the season.
After losing one game to the Mumbai Indians, the RCB team visited Bengal to face the Kolkata Knight Riders on April 19. The RCB skipper scored a hundred in causing an upset against the home team at the Eden Gardens. Quite ironically, the game marked the downfall of KKR who had a strong start in the IPL 2019 season. The win also pumped up the momentum of the RCB team.
However, the Bengaluru-based franchise could only manage three wins following that game, the last of which was a dead rubber for them as their chances to qualify for the playoffs was nil. Causing trouble for the Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 4, RCB won their final league fixture by 4 wickets. Hence, ending the season on a winning note.
RCB team promises fans to come back stronger next season
Earlier, ahead of the clash against the SRH, AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli had recorded a video that was posted by RCB’s official Twitter handle for the fans promising them to give their best in the next season. They also gave a word to the fans that the team will try to end the season on a high especially since it was a home game at Bengaluru. Staying true to their word, the RCB brought joy for the fans at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
The Namma Team RCB Fan Club was seen holding a huge poster for the team which displayed the following: “We’ll always keep our heads high. Our love for RCB will never die.” Looking at the fans, Virat Kohli and Co. must have been really emotional. The Indian captain hence took to Twitter to thank the fans for their support. The tweet also included the picture of the fans holding the aforementioned poster.
