IPL 2019: Virender Sehwag exhilarated with the last ball finishes in the league
Shaandaar, says Sehwag.
In the last two days, the Indian Premier League (IPL) has served up the fans with some nail-biting action. Both the matches (MI v KXIP & RR v CSK) went down right till the final ball of the innings leaving the fans glued to their seats. Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag seems to be enjoying all this action.
After the RR-CSK game, he came up with a special tweet praising Polly kaka (Kieron Pollard) as well as the duo of MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja. He wrote that this edition of the IPL has been a great tournament thus far. Indeed, it has witnessed everything till now including MS Dhoni completely losing his cool.
“Wow! What a game, what a tournament this IPL has been. Yesterday Polly Kaka for Mumbai, today Santner and Dhoni, shaandaar. #RRvCSK,” wrote Virender Sehwag in his tweet.
The story of the match…
Chasing a mediocre target of 151, CSK needed 18 runs off the final over to win the match. Ben Stokes was tasked to bowl the last over and Ravindra Jadeja started off with a six. That was followed by a no-ball where a single was taken. MS Dhoni took a double off the free-hit but was out clean bowled on the third ball.
This was followed by the (non-)no-ball controversy and two runs came off the fourth ball of the over. Mitchell Santner, the batsman, picked another couple the next ball with the equation coming down to 4 runs off 1 ball. Ben Stokes then bowled a wide and the Kiwi batsman finished the game for his team with a six off the final ball.
Even the game between Mumbai and Punjab got Virender Sehwag excited. Kieron Pollard scored 83 runs from just 31 balls in the game but got out in the final over. Alzarri Joseph finished the game for his team by taking a couple off the final ball. This was MI’s highest successful chase ever at the Wankhede.
