IPL 2019: Yuvraj Singh ecstatic after being picked by Mumbai Indians in the auction
It will be interesting to see how he fares in the blue jersey next year.
India’s World Cup hero Yuvraj Singh is all set to don the blue jersey in the Indian Premier League (IPL) next year. After a not so impressive show for the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the previous season, the left-hander was released by them and went under the hammer in Jaipur. But there was stun silence when the auctioneer announced his name during the event. He went unsold in the first lot which broke the heart of the fans and it was sad to see India’s best player not even getting a bid in the auction.
However, there was still hope for the legendary cricketer as the Hugh Edmeades requested a few more names from the franchises who they want to ponder on once again. Expectedly, Yuvraj’s name arrived and once again most of the franchises didn’t show any interest. The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) created a hype ahead of the event that they might pick him but didn’t do so.
In the end, it was the Mumbai Indians camp which raised the ballot for him and there was elation among the other franchises as well.
Ab Ayega Maza
Yuvraj Singh, soon after he was picked by the three-time champions, expressed his happiness to play in the blue jersey for the first time. He was also extremely delighted to play under Rohit Sharma‘s captaincy who has won all the three titles since taking over the mantle of the team. “I am glad to be part of the @mipaltan family, looking forward for the season to begin. See u soon @ImRo45,” his tweet read.
He also made a video for his Mumbai Indians fans urging them to support him and his team in his own ways. It will be interesting to see how he fares for them in the upcoming season. Moreover, it might also turn out to be the last year of his glorious career.
