IPL 2020: 3 Changes CSK should make ahead of their next game against DC
The Super Kings' bowling attack was taken apart by RR in Sharjah.
2. Ambati Rayudu (If fit) for either Murali Vijay or Ruturaj Gaikwad
Rayudu’s absence was definitely felt in CSK’s match against RR. Not only does his inclusion strengthen the batting line-up, but also provides that X- factor which he brings with his fearless batting approach. The same was quite evident in the match against MI where he went after the bowlers from the word go, helping his team bring down the required run rate, thereby making it easier for the remaining batsmen to finish the match.
Provided fit, he should be an easy swap either for Murali Vijay or Ruturaj Gaikwad in the playing eleven. Vijay hasn’t done anything substantial with the bat so far with his runs tally showing 22 at a strike rate of 78.57.
But given his experience at the IPL of playing 105 matches it would not be an easy decision of letting him out. On the other hand, it would even be harsh if Gaikwad gets dropped after just a single match.
Chennai will surely have a question to answer ahead of them with whom to replace to bring back the in-form Rayudu to bolster the batting line-up.
