IPL 2020: 3 disappointing buys made by Mumbai Indians (MI)
A couple of these picks could upset the balance of the side.
3. Saurabh Tiwary
Eyebrows were raised when MI raised the paddle for Saurabh Tiwary. The left-hander, who seemed quite promising at the start of his career, slowly lost his way. He last played for India in 2017 and didn’t play in an IPL game since 2017.
The cricketer also struggled with the bat in the recent Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy where he found it hard to score the big runs. Yet, MI decided to go ahead with him once again. He could just be a back-up option in the team but there were many better options the franchise had.
Moreover, the combinations of the Mumbai Indians don’t allow Tiwary to fit into the side. The team is already packed with so many talented players and Tiwary might have to warm the bench for the entire season. Mumbai could have rather given a chance to an in-form young cricketer as this would have been a great learning curve for him.
