2. Chris Morris
Which team would want to shell out a fortune on a player who hasn’t played more than 10 games in the last three seasons? Chris Morris was extensively backed by the Delhi Capitals (DC) but he hardly reached the expectations. He hasn’t been in great form of late and has also been constantly overlooked in the national team.
The South Africa all-rounder didn’t have a great time in the recently concluded MSL. Yet, Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) and RCB went hard after him. The team from the north, however, backed out once he hit the INR 8 crore mark. Mumbai Indians (MI) understood RCB’s desperation for a fast-bowling all-rounder.
It seemed as if there was a plan behind pushing his price to INR 10 crores. At that price point, RCB could have got much better options. In fact, they could have picked a Glenn Maxwell or a Pat Cummins instead of going for him. Morris is often quite expensive with the ball and doesn’t contribute big with the bat either.
