2. Alex Carey
The Royal Challengers Bangalore currently are reliant on Parthiv Patel to do the wicket-keeping duties and the Gujarat cricketer has not been very impressive over the time period. Although he gives the side a good start on occasions, he scored just 13 half-centuries in 139 matches as an opener for different sides, a stat not promising enough for Kohli’s dreams.
The franchise will definitely be looking beyond the 34-year-old and one of the best options currently available in the auction is Alex Carey. Carey hogged a lot of limelight when he played some great knocks coming down the order for Australia in the World Cup and has been a significant contributor for Adelaide Strikers in the last few seasons in BBL.
Carey’s presence in the middle order will solve a lot of problems for Kohli, who will get to open the innings alongside Devdutt Padikkal and also reduce the burden on the shoulders of AB de Villiers or Moeen Ali. He will also be a regular starter for the side, as they don’t have many wicket-keeping options.
