IPL 2020: BCCI brings in Unacademy as official partner of the tournament

The most awaited tournament of the year the Indian Premier League (IPL) is finally set to get underway in UAE from September 19 to November 10. The cash-rich league will take place across three cities of the Gulf country, namely, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Dubai. Amid the latest development moving around IPL, Bengaluru –based Edu-tech firm ‘Unacademy’ has been finalised as the official partner for the next three seasons.
The official statements regarding the same have been given by BCCI on Saturday, August 28. Earlier fantasy gaming platform Dream11 has been roped in as title sponsor of this season’s IPL by the BCCI. Chinese mobile phone company VIVO stepped down from the position of title sponsors following a brutal face-off between Indian and Chinese troops in Galwan valley. There was a huge outcry in the nation to discard Chinese products from the markets post this incident.
“We are pleased to have Unacademy on board as the ‘Official Partner’ of the Indian Premier League 2020 to 2022,” said IPL chairman in a release on Tuesday as quoted by CNBC.
“IPL is the most-watched cricket league in India, and as a homegrown Indian edutech company, we believe that Unacademy can create a huge positive impact on the aspirations of the audience watching, especially the millions of Indian youth who are seeking inspiration in their careers.”

Dream11 bagged the title sponsorship of IPL 2020 season over the likes of Unacademy and BYJU’s with a bid of whopping Rs 222 crore.
