Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) opener Devdutt Padikkal has turned out to be one of the finds of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season. He has so far mustered 321 runs in 10 matches with the help of three half-centuries and is learning a lot playing alongside the likes of Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. No wonder the youngster is overawed with the two top cricketers and must be following them in all aspects on the field.
However, Devdutt Padikkal has followed De Villiers off the field as well taking up the Break the Beard challenge after the latter did it on October 13. It was the likes of Dinesh Karthik, Kieron Pollard and Krunal Pandya who started the trend during the IPL and the other cricketers have duly taken it forward sporting new looks.
The 20-year-old RCB batsman has also done the same has come up with a new style while also calling De Villiers an icon player in his latest Instagram post. He also challenged Rahul Tewatia and Vijay Shankar to follow the trend. “thanks for being an icon on and off field! In awe of that style. Here is something of my own. Let’s see who can match that… @rahultewatia20 , @vijay_41 are you ready? #BreakTheBeard #GameFaceOn #ipl2020 #beard #newlook,” the post read.

RCB looking good for a top two finish in IPL 2020
Meanwhile, much to the delight of the fans, RCB are looking good this season to go all the way. Since the first match itself, barring a couple of matches, the team, under Virat Kohli, has looked settled and is performing well. Also, the in-form AB de Villiers has made a lot of difference for RCB as the superman from South Africa has won them a couple of game single-handedly.
Devdutt Padikkal has played his role at the top of the order well. He will be keen on continuing to bat well for the rest of the season even as RCB are looking extremely good to finish in the top two after the league stage. They are currently at the second place having won seven matches out of 10.
