IPL 2020: Dubai Police welcomed DC and KXIP with supercars upon their arrival at stadium

Kings XI Punjab and Delhi Capitals locked horns in what turned out to be a nail-biting thriller of the thirteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). DC, led by Shyreas Iyer, managed to amass 157 runs on the board due to Marcus Stoinis quick-fire 21-ball 53 at the end. At a point when crossing the 150-run mark was looking unrealistic for Capitals, Stoinis smoked Chris Jordan for 3 fours and 2 sixes to steer his side to a challenging total.

In reply, KXIP’s run-chase was steadied by Mayank Agarwal’s 89-run knock. The match was nothing short of an action-packed thriller. After both the teams gathered equal runs on the scoreboard, it eventually boiled down to a Super Over where the Delhi side clinched the encounter with four deliveries to spare.

A day after the exciting contest, Visit Dubai shared how players of both teams were welcomed at the stadium before the match. Visit Dubai released a clip where the players are seen receiving a grand welcome at the stadium. The video shows security personnel with their horses and exotic supercars. The ethos of Dubai is filled with luxury and supercars, and their police are also known for deploying luxury supercars.

Equipped with many supercars, the Dubai police also holds the Guinness World Records for having the world’s fastest police car in service– Bugatti Veyron. So, it’s not an unusual sight in Dubai to spot a modified police car which actually is Bugatti Veyron, Ferrari FF or Lamborghini Aventador.

Talking about the match, it was a roller-coaster ride for all fans. While Kings XI Punjab looked like winners at one point, the weight shifted towards Delhi Capitals at the end. Hunting down DC’s 157-run total, KXIP kept losing wickets at regular intervals, reducing their chances of winning the encounter. However, it was Mayank Agarwal’s batting heroics which added a twist in the tale.

The match ultimately progressed into a Super Over, with both DC and KXIP notching up 157 runs each on the board. It was Kagiso Rabada’s bowling brilliance which made the difference in the Super Over. He restricted KXIP to 3 runs and sealed the victory for Shreyas Iyer’s men.
