IPL 2020: Fans bash Virender Sehwag after he makes an insulting remark on SRH's batting
Sehwag stated that SRH should give a walkover to Mumbai Indians.
Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag has been brutally criticized by fans for making an insulting comment on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). The former India opener has always been known for being unfiltered and speaking his mind out.
In the latest turn of events, he made a bold remark on SRH before their batting show against defending champions– Mumbai Indians. Hyderabad have struggled a bit in order to display some great batting show from their middle order.
Taking a dig at SRH’s ineffective batting performance in IPL 2020 so far, Sehwag stated that David Warner and the company should give a walkover to the opponents. As the game is being held on a high scoring pitch of Sharjah, teams have been constantly scoring over 200 runs. Mumbai also posted a huge 208 on board, and in the same light, Sehwag said Warner and his men shouldn’t bother chasing it and hand over the victory to MI.
SRH lost the encounter against MI by 34 runs
“Mujhe lagta hain ki Hyderabad ko walkover dena chahiye, kyuni ki humare (SRH) batting mein dum nahi hain ki hum 200-250 run banaye. Hum toh 150 wale khilari hain, aur Mumbai ne agar peheli batting karli toh Mumbai banane wale hain 200 plus,” said Sehwag while speaking on Cricbuzz.
His comment translates to-– “Hyderabad should give a walkover. They don’t have the firepower in their batting to score 200-250. SRH is capable of a 150 runs, and if Mumbai bat first, they will put up a 200-plus total).”
Sehwag’s insulting remark didn’t go well with the fans, and people started slamming him on Twitter. Some stated that he has made a habit to put out such hurting statements, and others asked what good has he done in the IPL. Some called his comment as insulting, while others stated it as simply cheap.
